This ingenious girl’s coat just out now for Winter 2008 from Lili Gaufrette, will be a big hit for all those 6 to 14 year olds.  Wear it during the day for school as an updated and feminine parka coat, with the faux fur on the inside to keep cosy and warm.  Wear it at the weekend as a fabulous fur coat, by simply turning the coat inside out!  Both ways look fantastic and have deep pockets for keeping hands warm, the only difference being the design.  The parka side of the coat has a belt too, so it really does look like there are two coats - but for the price of one!  Shown here in black, but also available in brown.

Suitable for boys or girls, this is the latest christening gown from Baby Dior - there are now three designs available to choose from on this website.

The long-sleeved gown is fastened at the back by buttons and is in traditional style with a very long skirt edged in lace, with the Dior logo embroidered discreetly above. 

The bodice of the robe has a yoke effect all around it which is edged in the same lace as the bottom of the skirt.  The yoke sits over the long A-line skirt which opens out at the front to reveal a finely vertically pleated panel, and sheer longs sleeves gently gathered at the bottom to create a balloon effect.

Tartan is one of the big hits this year in ladies fashion, and is now filtering through to childrenswear.  Modern yet very traditional, tartan skirts and kilts have a timeless quality about them and always look smart.

This cute giraffe jumper from Little Marc Jacobs took me back to when I lived abroad and knit countless items for my little niece.  I made similar pieces with animals and can recollect one in particular that had a grey elephant on a pink background and one sleeve was the trunk.  Then there was the one with Noddy on it………………….  It was a shame that by the time I had my own children, I’d given up my obsession with knitting.

This has to be the most fabulous winter coat for girls that I have seen so far this year.  I absolutely love everything about it, from the gorgeous navy and bottle green tartan to the shape of the coat that swings out from the waist.

Ralph Lauren have certainly created a winner with this girl’s coat.

Made from a mix of (mainly) wool, with nylon and cashmere, it is true luxury for the lucky girl who wears it.  Double breasted with large crested buttons and a huge lapel collar, the coat is nicely fitted from the top down to the waist.  The bottom half of the coat is pleated to give a full skirt effect that swings out magnificently when spun round.
