Spring heralds lighter and brighter clothing, like the range of t-shirts and tops shown above.  It seems as if many of you share the same view, because sales of these items are very high at the moment.  Whether you are planning ahead for warmer weather or intent of buying your daughter’s wardrobe before stocks run out, the new products are really popular.

Unfortunately, as stocks are being depleted quite quickly, not all sizes are remain for each different top, so buy now to avoid disappointment.

There are plenty of cute little ivory or white silk baby shoes that are suitable for christenings and weddings for baby girls, but it is harder to find shoes specifically for boys.  For pre-walkers a lot of parents prefer to have soft fabric shoes to ensure that the tiny feet and toes don’t get squashed into hard leather.

These shoes from Sarah Louise are designed for boys in mind so are simple in design, but still special enough for formal occasions – especially christenings and naming ceremonies.

Pretty as a picture, this fifties inspired 100% cotton sundress keeps little girls looking like little girls.  With a white cardigan and delicate sandals the dress can be worn almost anywhere and looks very smart.  On its own in the summer it is more casual and fun – perfect for outdoors parties and barbecues or simply playing outside in the warm sunshine.

Available in 3 different design, my favourite is this white Provencale print on a gorgeous pale blue background.  The other choices are red apples on a white background, and large white polka dots on a pale pink background.  All 3 share the same shape, with a gathered skirt joined to a halter-neck bodice that has a tie at the back of the neck.

The dress is suitable for girls in the 2-3 to 13-14 age group at time of publishing, stock is available in all sizes for each of the designs.

Many christening gowns are unisex, with a smaller number being designed specifically for girls or boys.  A couple of days ago, we brought you a boy’s gown so today it is the girl’s turn.

Without being too frilly and fluffy, this gown from Little Darlings captures some very feminine details.  Made from ivory 100% silk with a fully lined skirt with added netting for volume, this gown has restricted the lace detail to the bodice and small flower edging around the sleeve hem and scalloped skirt edges.  The back of the gown tapers out to a stunning fishtail effect, and this theme is continued on the short puffed sleeves, giving a very pretty look.  The back has a fabric covered button fastening and a bow sash.

A matching lace trimmed bonnet completes the look.

This gown is available in 4 sizes from 0-3 months through to 9-12 months, and will be treasured for generations to come.

Susan Lawson has a beautiful range of christening outfits for both boys and girls.  Some of the traditionally styled gowns are unisex and each come with a matching hat (or bonnet for girl’s gowns).  Also in the range are silk romper suit and hat sets for boys in either ivory or a mix of ivory and pale blue.

What I like about this gown is that it is specifically design with boys in mind.  Whilst the overall shape is similar to a traditional long gown, the top part is very much a modern ‘boy shape’ with the waistcoat, giving you the best of both worlds.  

Made from ivory dupion silk, this gown has 3/4 length sleeves that are slightly puffed at the cuffs and shoulder seams.  The Peter Pan collar has piped edges, and the neat little waistcoat is made from an ivory jacquard weave silk for contrasting texture.

This christening gown is currently reduced in price (as at 21st January 2009) and is available in 2 sizes:  0-6 months and 6-12 months.  All orders are hand-made in England with an expected delivery time of 10 days.

We are pleased to introduce the Monnalisa range to Kids Posh Togs.  Fantastic designs and quality items from Italy.  This spotty skirt and camisole top set is just one of the stunning new outfits for next season.  The monochrome look here works well, as does the contrast between spots, stripes and blocks of colour – all cleverly put together without clashing.  Whilst these two pieces are purchased as a set, there is nothing to stop your daughter wearing them separately and teaming them with other items – for instance the top  works well with a pair of smart tailored trousers or white canvas jeans, and the skirt with a different top.

 The top has a black bow that ties at the back, and the skirt has a netting layer underneath to give it a full and flouncy look.  Both items are made from 100% cotton, and are machine washable.

A mixture of plain satin, intricate embroidery, sequins and faux pearls combine to make this white first communion dress so special.

With short capped sleeves, a simple round neck and ballerina length skirt, the dress has a zip fastening down the back and a large ready-tied bow on the waist.  It is made from 100% polyester satin and is dry clean only.

This dress is available in sizes 7 and 8 years.

These longer style bathers are much more in favour with the boys of today, in comparison to the tiny pant-style worn in my youth!  It isn’t that difficult to see why either.

The bathers are machine washable and are made from a blend of 70% cotton and 30% nylon, with a mesh lining.  The waist is elasticated with a functional drawstring to ensure the right fit.

For girls, there is this pretty vintage dress.  Available in four different colourways and patterns, my favourite is this red floral version (you can also choose a pink background with mouthwatering strawberries, or a pale blue or yellow based spotty print).  All designs follow the same basic shape of round-neck, sleeveless, and a straight bodice attached to the floaty skirt with a narrow waistband and bow.  Very 50s style!

Perfect for long hot summer days on its own with pretty sandals, or with a cute cardi on top for when it’s not so warm.  All four dresses have a removable net petticoat.

At the time of publishing, all 4 versions are fully stocked in all sizes from 12-18 months through to 11-12 years.
