Kids Posh Togs

For the first time on Kids Posh Togs, we are delighted to be able to introduce some lovely items from Romeo Gigli.  Born in 1950 in Castelbolognese, Faenza, Gigli spent 10 years travelling the world before starting to design.  His Italian passion has shown through in his work, which has a huge following.  In September 2002, Victoria Beckham was quoted as listing Gigli as her favourite designer.  Perhaps it was her love of his designs that influenced the decision to name one of her son’s Romeo?

We’ve seen some very bold shapes and styles of jackets for girls in recent years, and this black tux style jacket from Dior is no exception.

From the front the jacket looks like a very elegant ‘Doris Day’ inspired piece with cropped sleeves, a very pretty round neckline with lapels, which fastens underneath the collar with a single button, before opening out into a tail-fin shape.  To break the solid black colour, a gold ‘D’ charm dangles from a mock breast pocket.

From the back however, the jacket takes on another look - this time that of a tuxedo!  The slightly fitted back has a small, wide-open vent at the bottom which tapers out to mimic a real tux tailcoat.  A row of 3 bright buttons with the Dior inscription extend up from the sleeve cuffs, which enhances the look further.

If you are looking for a smart black jacket for your daughter this year, then this one although expensive, is versatile enough to compliment a wide number of outfits and different looks.

The jacket is dry clean only and made from a cotton/poly mix.

This delightful silk dress from Escada is perfect as a party or special occasion dress for little girls.  The lovely sheen of the fabric is so elegant and lovely to the touch.

Pretty puffed sleeves are slightly gathered on the inside edge to create the fullness.  Probably the most stunning part of the dress is the unusual asymmetrically pleated ruffle collar, which really adds a finishing touch to the overall look of what is essentially a simple, plain dress.

This dress is machine washable at a low temperature, and is fully lined, with a zip fastening down the back.
