This gorgeous champagne coloured sheepskin coat reminds me of a similar one I had as a child.  It is funny how such things can evoke powerful memories, but I can still remember wearing the coat for absolutely ages.  Although a similar pale colour, it never seemed to get dirty or wear out, and I remember always being warm and cosy whenever I wore it.

This coat from Marie Chantal is far more luxurious than the one I owned, and longer in length too, and I am sure will be every bit as much loved by whoever will own it.  Made from 100% English sheepskin, and therefore requiring specialist cleaning, this coat has a fur trim around the collar, cuffs and hem, with 4 Marie Chantal buttons for fastening.

There’s nothing like taffetta to bring out the party girl feeling.  This lovely navy blue dress from Jottum is just out for the coming season and will make a fabulous party dress.

With short puffed sleeves and a simple round neck, the skirt is made from a number of panels to give greater fullness and shape.  Edged in a deep pleated frill, this edging is attached to the bottom of the skirt by a narrow band of pleats that periodically forms a large and elaborate loop around the skirt.  The dress is completed by the addition of the belt around the waist.

Available in sizes from 4 to 12 years, this item is machine washable.

The range of winter coats that was available in 2008 was stunning, but I think 2009 is going to surpass that!  More and more are becoming available as we head nearer to the new season, and you are definitely going to be spoilt for choice.

This super little ivory coloured baby coat from Dior is simply gorgeous.  With its detachable fur collar your little girl will look a million dollars in this.  Although hard to see on the image, the coat is made from a soft velour which has tiny gold coloured polka dots all over the fabric.  Pleats down the front sides and middle back give shape to the coat and movement so it doesn’t feel restrictive to wear.  A pretty bow has been attached to the back of the coat.

Whether your daughter prefers nighties or pyjamas, new sleepwear is always something to look forward to as the nights start drawing in.  Perhaps because the shortie summer nightwear is no longer sufficient to keep her snug and warm, now is a great time to invest in some new sets.

The ‘Lottie’ range is new from the Little White Company’ s Autumn 2009 collection.  The long-sleeved nightdress is available to fit ages 2-12 years, whilst the pyjamas fit ages 1-12 years.  Both are made from soft pure cotton jersey so feel lovely on the skin and will keep your little girl comfy and warm.

There’s something so nostalgic about this cute little cardigan that is part of the new Autumn / Winter 2009 collection from Cath Kidston.  The lovely bright red colour is so cheerful, and the little cars bordering the bottom edge match the contrasting pale blue trim.  Your baby boy will look a right little Bobby Dazzler in this.

The cardigan is made from the softest merino wool with a ‘V’ neck and four buttons for fastening down the front.

It’s almost back to school time, which means darker nights and colder and wetter weather.  However, for those lucky people amongst us, to shake off the doom and gloom that the coming season brings us, we have our winter holidays to look forward to.  Even if you are not planning on taking a family ski-ing trip this year, many children will be coming home from school with details about school ski-ing trips, so you may still need to purchase good quality weather-proof ski-wear for them.

At long last, the new Autumn / Winter 2009 collection from Joules has been launched.   Whilst there are a couple of short sleeve polo shirts that we particularly like, the rather colder weather today has prompted us to choose a long sleeve version to show you.

The version shown is called chilli green and has a gorgeous orange band across the front waist, which contrasts beautifully with the green chest and bottom and navy sleeves.  Also available is pillarbox red, with the orange and green replaced with red and mustard.  Both designs are equally as nice and will brighten up even the most dreary Autumn day.

Both polos are available to fit ages 3 – 12 years.

Unless you still have a holiday to go to, the sale of summer sandals has almost finished for this year.  School shoes are top of the list at the moment of course, but so too are boots and winter shoes.  Those canny shoppers who have their thoughts turning towards the coming Autumn / Winter season are already one step ahead.

These super brown 100% leather suede boots from Antik Batik are right on trend and look great teamed with jeans and even skirts and dresses.  Also available in black, they have a tassled fringe all around the top, and a zip down the leg for comfort and easy taking on and off.

Regular visitors to Kids Posh Togs will know that we are huge fans of I Pinco Pallino.  This exquisite subtely coloured brown skirt is another fabulous piece in their new Autumn / Winter 2009 collection.  Perfect for parties or equally nice with thick tights, boots and a simple top, this skirt makes a real statement.  Beautiful rosettes have been formed from the fabric which cover the bottom half of the skirt that has been topped with a large stretchy waistband.

Classic tartan never seems to loose its appeal.  I remember wearing more formal skirts and kilts made from various colours in tartan many years ago, and whilst the traditional look is still much sought after, it is nice to have a choice of updated looks too.  This modern twist on the classic tartan theme is set to be a popular choice this Autumn.  We love the more feminine shape that gently flares out, whilst still retaining the pleats at the back and the cross-over front with buckle fastening that symbolise the traditional kilt.  The larger more muted checks are further enhanced by the mohair and alpaca addition to the traditional wool fabric.

Gaultier have used tartan themes in a lot of their new season collections this year, so check them out.
