Longer length swimming shorts are much favoured by men and boys, and these brightly striped swim shorts are just the job for a jolly time at the beach or pool this summer.  Unique designs that look great on the kids but matching larger sizes for dads are also available.

Bright and cheerful, these swimming shorts for boys are new in at Joules and we think they’ll go with a splash!  In a lovely red colour with grey and white sharks all over them.  The shorts have an elasticated waist for easy dressing and a better fit, but they also feature a rope tie.

Available in sizes from 3-4 through to age 11-12, the shorts are machine washable and will look great at the poolside or on the beach.

Hopefully where you are it is as gorgeous as it is here today.  A beautiful blue sky and hours of bright sunshine, although it is still quite cold.  After the lengthy winter we have had, I’m not complaining though!

With thoughts of the summer ahead, I’ve decided today to bring you an item that will be much sought after during the holiday season.  Float suits are great for small children who perhaps are only learning to swim.  They give reassurance to the child and therefore help build confidence in the water.  The individual floats inside the band around the waist can be removed separately as the need arises and less dependence is required of them.

What is even better about this float suit is the fact that it is a UV protection suit too!  Whilst you can buy the two items separately it makes sense to have both functions provided by one item.  With a UV protection factor of 50 you can be happy in the knowledge that your child is having extra protection against the harmful rays of the sun, yet still having fun.

It is still cold outside but the snow has gone, so those of us optimistic enough to be thinking forward to long hot summer nights, the release of the 2010 Spring / Summer Collections including swimwear is a good thing.  Whilst stocks are at their highest, it is good to be able to choose exactly what we want to buy for the forthcoming season before we struggle to get stock.

We brought you some of these items last summer, but thought it appropriate to promote them again.  With personal experience of the dangers of too much exposure to the sun in those early childhood days, we at Kids-Posh-Togs can’t urge you enough to ensure that the delicate skin on your child is protected sufficiently.  That is why we love these all-in-one suits and separates.  Made to give protection of 50+ SPF, these items don’t cost the earth but are priceless if they can save children from the trauma of skin cancer in later life.  (Of course any exposed skin outside these items needs to be adequately coated in high factor suncream).  The added bonus is that these items also keep you warm, which is particularly helpful when used on our British beaches!

For more serious swimming, take a look at what Simply Swim have available – there are masses of styles available, with some of them reduced in price at the moment.  There are pretty all-in-ones and bikinis like the pink pebble beach skirted bikini which is availalbe in sizes 1-6 years.  The bikini has a halter neck top with pink bow at the front and clip back fastening.  The high durability of the fabric means that it gives up to 4 times the resistance to chlorine than conventional fabric, and offers UPF50+ sun protection.  To really impress, take a look at the price!  This item is also available in green.
