The image shows a deep blue cotton dress, but have a closer look and you will see the lovely broderie design of the fabric.  Large circular wheels are joined together by tiny groups of stitching to give the beautiful lacy design associated with broderie anglais.  Obviously, on its own the fabric would be very sheer, so it has been fully lined to provide decency!

A classic shape, the dress is sleeveless and has a simple round neck with plain bodice that joins the gathered slightly full skirt under the contrasting pink sash around the waist.  A cream version with pale blue sash is also available and is a popular choice as a bridesmaid dress.  In fact, both these dresses are suitable as party or special occasion dresses.

The dress comes with an extra net skirt to wear underneath for extra fullness and shape.
