Flipflops are the big thing this year, with stocks disappearing out of shops before your eyes!  Gone are the days when the humble child’s flipflop was a rubber affair with a plain solid coloured, spongy ‘v’-shaped rubber band that held them in place on your feet.  Today’s flipflops are much more stylish and harder wearing.  Colour has no limitation now, and can be see-through, opaque, sparkly, striped or any combination of the above!  Some have jewels embellished on them, and their bases too can be very colourful and much more pleasing to the eye.  Flipflops are now considered to be a ‘must-have’ as the holiday season approaches and are lightweight and easy to tuck away in tightly packed suitcases.  Being inexpensive, flipflops are ideal summer footwear for children on holiday without much worry if they are damaged or lost.
